Truly great experience. Med Assist is very nice, clearly communicates the steps/phases of my exam.

Dr. Ivan Stanford is the best. I appreciate him especially for being queer friendly; I feel like I can ask him literally anything (and I have). The receptionists were wonderfully friendly, and the RN that took me In for vitals was also wonderful to chat with. The facility on Kane Street, however, needs some serious updates; it is clearly not up to UCH standards. I was asked to take my shoes off when measuring my height, and I happened to not have socks on that day. I felt pretty gross standing on the old floor tile. When I first started seeing Dr. Stanford, he was operating out of the UCH Pavilion in Farmington - that space was so beautiful and organized, and I really enjoyed seeing the students involved in facilitating my care. Dr. Stanford switched to Kane Street, and while I love him as my PCP, I do not like going to Kane Street. The area seems a bit sketchy, and the outdated interior doesn't help that feeling. While I was waiting in the exam room, I noticed the ceiling tiles were damaged, the light was popped up and not fully in the grid, the clock did not work, the plastic laminate cabinets were in poor condition, and there was storage under the sink which isn't permitted by DPH. The exam table was from the 80's, and all of the furniture mismatched. It just makes you wonder what else is not in good condition that's hidden. At the end of the day, it's not a super big deal, but patients, on average, spend over $10,000 a year on healthcare. It's aggravating to see a facility in such a state... Especially when all of the staff are so friendly and accommodating. They deserve a better space.
